RH  Ventilation Manufacturing Company is a fresh start up company created with the philosophy that the kitchen can be a state of the art place. 

 

The idea was based on the personal experience of a group of people with the support of numerous homeowners.

"I personally like to cook a lot and my job takes me all over the bay area to improve the interior style of people's kitchens.

 

Naturally, the homeowners and I would discuss different issues that arise when cooking in a standard kitchen, one of them being the harsh smell of cooking meat or fish that spreads through the house when we bake.

 

Another thing we hated was the self-cleaning setting on the ovens, which would basically burn off whatever was left in the oven and blow all of that smoke into the house as soon as you opened the over door or it just seeped through the slits above the oven door.

This gave me the idea to create a vent that is dedicated to the oven in kitchen designs where the oven is separate from the range.

This way, the smoke is immediately pulled out of the house and strong smells don't hang around in the house.

​

The smoke detector also doesn't go off unnecessarily, saving us the stress of having to quickly open the windows and wave a towel around or try to turn it off with the nearest long object.

​

My team and I have since reworked the design to look aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

​

We also made it very simple operate: with just a push on the panel, the vent slides out and turns on, and with a second push, it turns off and slides back into the area above the oven."
